Nattokinase refers to an enzyme that is isolated from fermented soybeans and is considered a natural blood thinner. The enzyme has fibrinolytic properties, i.e. it can dissolve blood clots and thus have a blood-thinning effect. This effect can manifest itself in lower blood pressure, among other things. Initial studies suggest that taking nattokinase can have a positive influence on the risk of cardiovascular problems.
The EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) also confirms the safety of nattokinase products.
